Where owners build the next generation of operators
We pair established business owners with ambitious apprentices to grow businesses, develop operators, and pass on what works.
People love to say the younger generation doesn’t want to work. Sometimes that’s true. But it also makes the ones with real drive, discipline, and ambition stand out even more.At Elevation Foundry, we consistently meet people who are hungry to build something meaningful. The problem usually isn’t motivation — it’s direction. Many capable, driven individuals want responsibility, ownership, and a clear path forward, but don’t know where to find it.At the same time, there’s a generation of business owners who’ve spent decades building companies from the ground up. Many of these owners aren’t looking to slow down — they’re looking to scale. What holds them back isn’t opportunity, but finding the right people who can be trusted with real responsibility and eventually operate parts of the business as if it were their own.Elevation Foundry exists to bring these two groups together. We connect experienced business owners with high-potential operators through structured, real-world apprenticeships. These relationships aren’t theoretical or classroom-based — they’re built inside operating businesses, where skills, judgment, and leadership are forged through experience. The apprentice gains direct mentorship, avoids years of costly trial and error, and steps onto a clear path toward leadership and eventual ownership. The owner gains a capable operator who can help expand the business, open new locations, or take on meaningful responsibility — creating growth that wouldn’t be possible alone. When people hear the word apprenticeship, they often think of something outdated. We see it differently. We believe apprenticeships are one of the most powerful tools for building the next generation of business operators — and for helping proven businesses grow beyond their current limits. That’s what Elevation Foundry does:We help owners scale by building operators, and we help operators grow by learning from owners who’ve already done it.
Bert spent more than 30 years building his home-construction business from the ground up. There was no roadmap and no mentor — just years of trial, error, and slowly figuring things out the hard way.By the time the business was running smoothly and revenue was steady, Bert hit a wall. Growth was no longer limited by demand — it was limited by his time and energy. He could only bid so many jobs, manage so many projects, and be in so many places at once.Bert tried hiring help, but the results were always the same. Skilled workers came and went. Some lacked commitment. Others left the moment a better offer appeared. Months of training and tens of thousands of dollars disappeared with nothing to show for it. Eventually, Bert accepted what many owners do: expansion just wasn’t realistic. Then Elevation Foundry got involved.Dennis came from a completely different background. He’d done some construction labor in college, then moved into commercial banking after graduating. On paper, it was a good career — but behind a desk, Dennis felt disconnected from the work. He had the business and financial skills, the drive, and the ambition — but no clear path into owning or operating a hands-on business.Elevation Foundry connected the dots.We brought Bert and Dennis together and helped structure a true mentor–apprentice relationship. Bert passed down decades of hard-earned construction knowledge, systems, and judgment. Dennis paired that experience with his business and financial background — skipping years of costly mistakes Bert had to learn the hard way.The difference was motivation. Dennis wasn’t just an employee — he was building something of his own.Less than a year in, Dennis was ready to take the lead. He began running his own branch of Bert’s company, managing projects, foremen, and subcontractors. Dennis held majority ownership in his branch, while Bert retained an ownership stake — allowing the business to expand without Bert being stretched thin. For the first time, Bert’s company grew beyond what he could personally manage. And Dennis stepped into real leadership, responsibility, and ownership. This is what Elevation Foundry does.Across the country, there are owners who have built incredible businesses — but can only grow so far alone. And there are driven, capable people ready to run businesses — but no clear way in.We bridge that gap.
We match experience with energy.
And we help both sides build something that lasts.
